PRIVATE SEWING LESSONS

$65.00

I am excited to offer private sewing lessons for just one session or for a series of ongoing lessons.

Private lessons are held at Vecina, 540 Biden Street, Downtown Scranton.

Whether you have taken sewing lessons in the past or not, together we can achieve getting to the skill level where you would like to be.

I use Juki home machines and they are available for all lessons.

For private lessons, everything is up to you, the sky is the limit! Your class can consist of sitting down at a sewing machine for the first time or you can create your dream project yet you have no idea how to get it done.

  • Do you have a machine that has been sitting in the bottom of your closet for years? Bring it in and we will figure it out and get you sewing!
  • Did you learn a few years ago and you’re rusty and need a refresher?
  • Maybe you are already a dedicated sewer and you want to try something you are intimidated by to start alone.

Examples of what we can cover: adjusting patterns to fit you properly, fitting and altering your own clothing, learning to read a commercial pattern, understanding fabric construction, learn how to lay out a pattern and even learn ways to master your cutting skills.

You can try new fabrics (expensive fabrics that you are afraid of ruining!) or learn a new technique that seems too complicated to teach yourself (zippers anyone ? ! ?)

Categories can be home goods, children, formal dresses, bags, everyday clothes, accessories, costumes.

Whatever you choose, this will be an ideal opportunity for you to take away more information at a faster pace while focusing on what you would specifically like to do. And here's the big plus, you can make your own schedule!

Lessons are $65 for 1 hour and 15 minutes. Payment must be made in advance to be placed on the schedule. There is an option to schedule times on my website. https://vecinadesign.com/products/alterations

If you schedule online make sure to send me an email at jamesena@vecinadesign.com so we can discuss your plans before your first lesson. You can also email me to discuss scheduling times.

Cancellation and Rescheduling Policy: I will try to be as flexible as possible, however, I do need to maintain a standard cancellation policy, it's straight forward. All sewing lessons are non-refundable. If you are late, class will still end at the scheduled end time. If you are 20 minutes late and I did not hear from you, your class will be cancelled. You must reschedule 24 hours before your lesson.
